What could be better for a fashion student's wardrobe (and wallet) than a designer garment at an affordable price? Nothing. That's why we love Target's designer collaborations; making it possible for us harrowing college kids to add a little high fashion label to our closets without breaking the bank. The latest target collab, hitting stores February 10th, is in conjunction with Nepalese designer, Prabal Gurung.
Gurung started his fashion career at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi and later relocated to NYC in 1999 where he finished his schooling at Parsons The New School of Design. Upon graduation, Gurung spent two years working with Cynthia Rowley's design and production teams before becoming design director at Bill Blass, a title he held for five years. In February of 2009, Gurung launched his first collection, an accolade to his design philosophy encompassing modern luxury and indelible style.
The upcoming line for target, inspired by the flirt and femininity of a love story, consists of women's apparel and accessories. Gurung's keen sense of glamour and timeless style is evident in the fresh prints and classic silhouettes of each piece. After viewing the look book for the collection, its safe to say I've fallen head over heels. I'm drooling over the floral print blazer, so fresh and feminine and the perfect jacket for spring! Check out the entire look book here.
